My father was one of the most important people in my entire life. There was no one like him and will be no one like him. For those who have experienced loss, there isn’t much you can do except remember the good times and carry that person’s spirit in your heart. I’ve been doing that since the day I lost my father. So, this one’s for you Dad.
Looking back on my life and my memories of you;
Daddy, I remember so much we used to do.
We’d go camping in the summertime.
Life was simple, everything was fine.
I learned so much just by watching you.
Oh, Daddy, I love you.
When I was a child, I looked up to you.
You were my example, and I longed to be like you.
You showed me what it means to be a adult;
Taught me to treat people the best that I can.
You never met a stranger, everyone was a friend.
Oh, Daddy, I love you.
Now I’m grown and married, but with no kids of my own,
And we try, just like you and Mom, to build a happy home.
We go camping in the summertime.
Life will be simple, everything will be fine.
But I have no one to teach everything you taught me.
Oh, Daddy, I love you.
Daddy, now you’ve gone away to meet your reward,
And we know that is what you lived your whole life for.
Daddy, we sure miss you, but please save us a place,
‘Cause we are coming up to see you one of these days.
I just wish I had had more time with you,
What a brilliant man you were and all you could do;
But I have no one to tell what a great man you were,
Oh, Daddy, I love you.
We’ll go camping in the summertime.
Life will be simple, everything will be fine.
But I have no to teach them everything you taught me.
Oh, Daddy, I love you.
Oh, Daddy, I miss you.
You Taught Me How to Love You
You taught me how to love you by
The way that you loved me;
And by your unseen sustenance,
To see what you could see.
You gave to me through who you were
The gift of what I am.
Your pride in me is now my pride;
Your faith, my caravan.
Your life does not conclude with death,
Nor will it end with mine,
For all the lives I touch, you touch,
And so on through all time.
We are spending Father’s Day with another man who is very important to me my Father-in-law.
To My Father-In-Law
“I just want you to know
you mean the world to me,
Only a heart as dear as yours
would give so unselfishly.
The many things you’ve done,
all the times that you were there,
helps me know deep inside
how much you really care.
Even though I might not say,
I appreciate all you do,
Richly blessed is how we feel
having a father-in-law just like you.”
To all those with Fathers, please take time to make special memories and tell them what they meant to you. Life may be short and it is precious. To each Father may your day be special and may you enjoy your day. If you are not with your children today for reasons beyond your control, may time soon change that for I know your hear is heavy.

Vickie, that is beautiful! Have a great day with your hubby and dad.

You’ve outdone yourself again, Ms. Vickie. Like you, I miss my dad so much, but I know he is here, right here, in my heart, soul and mind.
I often think of those who can’t be with their dads - those like my daughter whose father lives in Tenn. and hasn’t heard from in months. Her heart aches, and mine does for her. But, these things that are out of our control, as you say, we just have to put in the hands of the Lord, and pray for better days and improved relationships.
God bless.
