Well
I guess by now you just might have the idea—-

Something is going on at Beyond the Crossroads—the Roller Coaster had just stopped when it did more than crank up this time, yes you guessed it if you are thinking about my mother-in-law. Momma B. has been admitted to the hospital for the second time this month and this time she is in ICU. On admission one not so competent employee was unable to place a central line in for access —- Might I add this was the one called in to do this procedure—-so they ended up placing it in her groin instead. The day after we are told that she has a blood clot in one of her lungs as well as a large pocket of air. They drained a quart of fluid from one of her lungs and she has a chest tube. Of course she is on Heparin to dissolve the clot. We also were told today they did not get enough nerve when they did the last surgery for the biopsy so they could not do the test that had been ordered that had been sent out of state. If you remember last year they did a pleurodesis on one of her lungs well they want to do that to the other lung as soon as they feel it is safe. That is the procedure where they went in rough up the lining of her lungs, obtain some scrapings and spray talcum powder to seal any holes that might be there to keep her lungs from filing with fluid.
Now you might understand the I have an Idiot problem—-at times I am feeling that way about her physicians. She is beginning to lose her spirit but her eyes smile and are so full of love when she is surrounded by her kids. When Carl walked in and she saw him I almost cried it was so sweet—and later he and his dad did break down when they talked about the fact this was her third time in this year and it is only May and she had already been in 17 days this month when she was readmitted which was on the 27th. By the way, all they do is treat symptoms—they have not got to the PROBLEM.
Yeah I think I have an Idiot Problem—and I showed my ass today — was it pretty—-never mind—-don’t answer. BTW—if you have not guessed it I am in Macon and blogging will be a hit and a miss until things settle down or I find guest bloggers.
Sorry for the attitude I do know I have one today Take care.

There are screwups and then there are screwups. The kinds of screwups performed by people who are supposed to be taking care of your loved ones, the ones that result in that loved one being hurt in some way, those are the really bad screwups.
You tell ‘em.
I’ll keep Momma B. in my prayers.

Hun, sometimes you have to show your ass to get some people’s attention. If it worked and got their attention, then all the better.
You and Momma B are in my prayers.

i am so sorry to hear this miss vickie. some times i do not know what these doctors are thinking. i do know it is very hard to find a good one that knows his stuff. i could have used another word for stuff that starts with an s but i won’t. any way i will be saying a prayer for her and for the family. i know southern ladies are usually calm until it comes to their families so try not to get to riled up and land in jail. wishing you and yours all the best.

Oh golly, Ms. Vickie - I am so sorry to hear all this. Poor Momma B, and all of you. You know exactly how I feel about the “employees”, and you sure have the right to have an attitude. I’m right there with you! God bless you all. I hope and pray they get moving!! ((HUGS))

Idiot doctors.
Drop the shorts and chuck a moon in their direction.
They keep fixing her and sending her home only to go back.
You would think they could find a permanent solution.
I hope your MIL get better soon at least good enough top go get a doctor who knows what to do for her.

How incredibly frustrating and who can blame you for being a little testy. We have to place so much faith in the medical profession because what else do we have when we’re sick and sometimes they are just not up to the task. If they’re hopeless we get to feel helpless and thats the most frustrating thing of all.
I sincerely hope SOMEONE will find the problem soon so it can be fixed permanently.

Take good care of you, Vickie. You know I’m here for you and I so needed your call yesterday. You’ve definitely got a pity-party partner in me. Lots of love and hugs!

Vicky,
I hope things have improved since you posted this. I cant imagine your frustration with this screw up. You have every right to a full blown hissy fit. Righteous indignation warrentrd for sure!! You still managed to choke me up with the discription of her smile when she saw Carl! *sniff*
My thoughts are with Carl and your whole family.
