Happy Mothers Day, Jaunita and Patricia

Before I Was Myself, You Made Me, Me

Before I was myself you made me, me
With love and patience, discipline and tears,
Then bit by bit stepped back to set me free,

Allowing me to sail upon my sea,
Though well within the headlands of your fears.
Before I was myself you made me, me

With dreams enough of what I was to be
And hopes that would be sculpted by the years,
Then bit by bit stepped back to set me free,

Relinquishing your powers gradually
To let me shape myself among my peers.
Before I was myself you made me, me,

And being good and wise, you gracefully
As dancers when the last sweet cadence nears
Bit by bit stepped back to set me free.

For love inspires learning naturally:
The mind assents to what the heart reveres.
And so it was through love you made me, me
By slowly stepping back to set me free.

We love you,
Carl and Vickie

I have said many times enjoy life, and live life fully for you never know what life holds for you. This year continued to bring many changes to my life and more will come. Last Mothers Day,my mother was home with me , we had little to no thoughts of a Nursing Homing—Jaunita, Carl’s mother (my mother-in-law) was just beginning a year where her health has done nothing but decline. My mother will live the remainder of her life in a Nursing Home. Monday two procedures will be done on Carl’s mom . One is being done to determine which one of three major types of amyloidosis she has. The other is a biopsy of the muscle and nerve to determine if they are already involved. She has already been told amyloidosis is fatal.

Being a Nurse is not good at times like this. A little more Medical knowledge than the average Joe is not always good but then at times it is—Did I say I have never been patient—One of the three types is familial or hereditary and Carl has been seeing the physician recently for pulmonary problems and so far they have found—nothing—he coughs and sounds just like his mom—please lord no—

To each Mother enjoy your day, to each child, visit your mom if possible, if not call her—it is her special day and Moms are special. I am blessed this year to have two very special moms Jaunita and Patricia.

Happy Mothers Day.

Happy Mother’s Day to you, Miss Vicki. Neither Pat’s nor my Mother are still living but it is nice to be able to celebrate the holiday this year with Pat. We went to breakfast with one of her daughters & the other met us at the house when we returned. We have had our daily mochas and will go to an early dinner at a local steak house, then to a casino for s live show with Glen Campbell, so it will be a memorable day. I think I will even get the first fully cleaned out room in my house completed today!

    Hi Vickie,
we all need those reminders sometimes, don’t we? Happy Mother’s Day, to you and both your mothers, my mom, who’ll be 81 this year, likes to say, ‘everyone wants to get old, but no one wants to be old’, it’s hard to see people we love suffer and scary if there’s a hereditary illness in the family, is there any prevention for it? I’ve never heard of it, does it affect the heart? Sometimes it’s a blessing, we can’t know the future. Take care!!

As always, I will be thinking of your family and praying for them. Hang in there and be strong. You are thought of often, and I can tell there are many others praying for you also. Have faith, God will listen!!

Hello my friend, reading back a bit I am saddened to hear of so many troubles for one so wonderful. Sometimes, yes, I agree, that there is something to learn in even the most terrible of situations and yes there is always a reason for things happening. BUT, sometimes, I just want to say ENOUGH, this person has learned and experienced enough. My prayers will have to do instead though and they are with you and your family.
    Big hugs.

Every person who walks this earth… every person born into this world is a miracle.

That we might find a moment to give thanks for our abilities… that we might find a moment to give thanks for those who show us, minute by minute, how blessed we are…

… in that we had one more minute to give thanks…

    makes us ALL angels.

    to someone.

    I love you Vickie.
