After testing–it was found he has liver cancer. The type of cancer he has normally only happens to older people who have had cirrhosis of the liver and in the RARE cases of a child getting it they have Hepatitis B or C. Ronnie has been tested for the Hepatitis and it is negative. The doctors are stumped as to how or why he has the cancer.
They decided the treatment for him was to be chemotherapy and half way through they would do a cat scan to see if the cancer was responding to the chemo. He had his cat scan done this past Monday and the results were—-such that the tumor in the liver is increasing but the tumor in the pancreas is shrinking—no mention of the heart.
He goes tomorrow for another chemo treatment and this is a direct request from his aunt Smurf’s blog…..
Please be praying about this. Please pray for God to perform a miracle on Ronnie. Please pray for Ronnie and Kari and all of the family.
Thank you so much for your prayers!
Please go visit Smurf and her family and let them know you are doing all you can for Ronnie.
Tomorrow is week two of chemo here but I am no child and I have lived a good life. My chemo is different and will never end for it does not cure my disease it might stop the progression. I started to experience what they believe to be side effect from the chemo early this morning—just in time for tomorrow’s dose.
However this post is all about Smurf’s nephew, Ronnie. Please do what your heart directs you to.

Cancer sucks. Big time.
I am assuming from the description that Ronnie has hepatocellular carcinoma, as opposed to hepatoblastoma, which is more common in children.
I am hoping that Ronnie’s parents will at least speak to St. Jude. So many of these pediatric cancers are so rare that local hospitals just have no experience.
St. Jude attracts people from all over the world, and as a result, they have more experience in some of the rare pediatric cancers than anywhere else.
Praying for Ronnie.

Hi there, I’ve been relying on using Bloglines to do my daily rounds of the blogroll for a while now, it’s a very time saving method but it feels a bit impersonal at times, so it’s a hot Saturday, I’m gonna sit here and visit with everyone, It won’t feel any different to you but know that I chose to visit today instead of just answering an electronic reminder.
Have a good day.
I read all your posts Vickie, but sometimes I can’t come up with anything intelligent to sy so I don’t always comment.
Bob has been missing for a while, hope he is OK.

Ooops, I visited Smurf’s site and commented there, but forgot to leave a calling card here. Hope you’re doing okay. My wife’s co-worker who sits adjacent to her recently underwent chemo and radiation therapy, and surgery, for cancer. She’s doing fine now. Let’s hope there’s better times ahead for you as well.
