It is my day to “skite”. Karen likes to say Toot your own horn, but not me. Gee-Whiz I would never do that so instead I just skite. Now if you have no idea what I am doing just ask, Peter or his sister Merle.
They will tell you, I am about to brag. Yes skite is Australian for” to boast; brag.”
Now what is it I have to boast about, nothing really? I just need something to post and Karen gave me the idea. I do have something I’m proud of and will share it later.
However before I get to that—I have a few things I want to share about myself and my blog. I do not have ads on my site that I make money from. I proudly display special links if I believe in someone and their talent. I also place button/ buttons that are special to me.
So pay attention to special buttons and/or links on my blog as well as other’s. For example, those who visit Karen know she is very talented. She is following her dreams, and in doing that the passions of her heart are expanding. I’m talking about her passion for photography and poetry writing not the Gee Whiz passion.
K&M photos and poetry has been in place for some time. Karen and Monica’s talents can be found there. More exposure is needed to reach people who could benefit from visiting this site. If you need special personalized gifts, you will not go wrong with a gift from here. I know I have one and it is one of my most prized possessions. The reason, it was personalized for me and a gift.
Recently wanting more exposure Karen worked with CafePress and Lulu’s to share her talents and allow others to purchase unique gifts. I made a purchase from her CafePress store and was excited with how easy it was and their quick response time. Yes, I am the very proud owner of the floral over sized calendar she has for sale. Beautiful —and just what I expected by the way.
So Karen, I’m skiting for you. Now on to the the others……
Peter was nominated and is a finalist for the Best Australian or New Zealand Weblog. This contest, The 2007 Bloggies is one of the oldest Weblog Awards, around. I have been reading Peter since right after he started his blog. I agree with this nomination and encourage you to go here to vote and to support my friend. Congratulations, Peter you deserve this award, You are already a winner in my book. BTW, I just skided about you.
Did I save the best for last—-well you be the judge .
My path crossed a very inspirational gentleman months ago. He is retired and started his blog to share his travels and keep others updated when he and his beautiful cat, Huggy were away seeing the country in his RV. One of the things I find so Inspiring about Dick is he lost his beautiful wife of 37 years, Annie. It was a very big loose but never did he lose his love for life. He has shared with us as he started to live life alone without a special lady. Recently he found someone else to share life with—-Pat.
He asked Pat the question, you know which one—-the one so many avoid. She said yes, no date has been set but it will be coming in the future. Two people’s lives are about to change as they begin to live life together. Dick is one who inspires me often, especially with his comments.
Yes Dick I’m skiting for you. Few people know the love you did the first time around and here you have found it again. Visit Dick here and congratulate him.
I did say I might have something to share with you, well months ago I wrote an article which someone read and asked if they could publish it. You can find it at Sure Woman, in the January edition. You can find, I have Regrets here. Yes. I’m skiting myself
Hmmm another way to look at all this skiting is—-I just wanted to compliment you for being the person you are—–someone special. So from now on—-Don’t Toot—Skit instead.
Lord Chesterfield once said—-Modesty is the only sure bait when you angle for praise.
I have others to skit but that will be later.
Most people are modest so if you know someone to brag on then do it —actually when you brag on another you are complimenting them. So go compliment others.
Make today the day you start ,there is no better time than now.

K & M is Karen’s baby, hands down. It developed under her and she gets ALL the credit. Now, her finally getting out there with her calendars and showing the world what she has talent-wise? Lulu? I get the credit for THAT. And I got the idea from Phoenix. And you were co-captain of cheering Karen on in this.
Just to let the rest of the world know.

I am truly honored for your words here and for your & Monica’s constant encouragement. You both keep me wanting to better myself and work on learning more about photography. A simple “thank you” won’t do here because I owe you more gratitude than I can express. Not only for skitting me *snortle* but for your friendship and for all you do for me.
Peter is well deserving of the nomination and I hope he wins.
I’m off to see Dick (ummm… the blog) and I should have long before now because you have always spoken highly of him.
I am SO proud of you for this article! I love it and will print it off so I can have it always. *HUGE HUGS* Congrats, my friend!
I love you dearly and my heart is full of gratitude.

Congratulations Vikie on having that post published. You ought to be proud.
I am so happy for Dick, when someone has enjoyed a good healthy loving relationship for so long, they look for that again when the time comes. I couldnt be happier for him.
Kayla loves her K&M product. a photo with a poem in a frame. It was a big inspiration to her in her fight against cancer.

Karen’s works are beautiful, and I disagree with Monica, I think Monica herself has great talent.
Congrats on the published article!

Hi Vickie, you wonderful little skiter, thank you so much for the plug and the wonderful things you had to say I am humbled.
As you said we first made contact when I was very new to blogging… through Trucker Bob as I recall?
