As we approach Thanksgiving I will share with you a post from my earlier days of writing and some of my thoughts.
I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think ,all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see. The longer I live the more my mind dwells upon the beauty and wonder of the world. I hardly know which feeling leads, wonderment or admiration. John Burroughs
Love isn’t just an object, a purchase, a sale, it’s a exchange, a trade, a gift you give and receive…..I want the gift next time….I want to get it and give it…..not just give it…….yes I did say that and Life is Simply Good at Always Victoria and now I must say it is even better at Beyond the Crossroads for I am Wiser.
Thank you Friend my special one
I am to be thankful for just one thing,
I know not what that could be but I know that this is true;
I’m so thankful God has blessed me with many things,
With such a friend as you would be that very most important one.
He has given to my life more than most have or ever will,
Blessings I cannot explain nor will I even try to question though many might;
For I am least deserving or so I have thought at times but not of late,
And yet His love remains oh so right as it is.
Still He saw fit to send you for me not her,
When He knew I needed a friend that special one;
He set our paths so they would cross without a miss,
On a journey with no end but many starts and stops.
So, I am thankful in this life of mine ,
For blessings tried over and over and proven true.
But most of all I am thankful for that very special gift,
That God sent a friend like you that special one.

Now for all of of those who will be enjoying those special feast tomorrow—-here is something special for you that I hope will bring a little smile to your face.
THANKSGIVING NIGHT
Twas the night of Thanksgiving and in my sleep.
Strange dreams in my mind, began to creep
Thanksgiving leftovers beckoned — The dark meat and white,
But I fought the temptation with all of my might.
Tossing and turning with anticipation……
The thought of a snack became infatuation…..
So to the kitchen I did race, Flung open the door,
And gazed at the fridge full of goodies galore .
I gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots, beans and tomatoes.
I felt myself swelling so plump and so round,
Till all of a sudden, I rose off the ground!
I crashed through the ceiling. Floating into the sky….
With a mouthful l of pudding and a handful of pie,
But I managed to yell as I soared past the trees.
HAPPY EATING TO ALL! PASS THE CRANBERRIES PLEASE!

The world is full of wonders - small, simple wonders. Dwell on them, seek them out, absorb them into your soul for nourishment. Ease the pain.
