The Real Story | Filed under General

You heard the story but not the real story so I will tell you the real story I wanted a vacation. Having worked for an Insurance Company I know all about how you do certain things I really do, just follow along—-.Things have really changed with how sick you are today when you are admitted to the hospital.

You may or may not know that in addition to having Missy (Multiple Sclerosis) to worry about in my life I also deal with asthma. For sometime now I have been a little under the weather but I thought it would get better with time if I just took things easy. You know how it is you just want to it off and wait a little longer….besides just maybe I could go to the beach after all I wanted a vacation. Carl and I had been planning a nice little get away. If I play my cards right —– I would get me one —-do you see where this is going….no I don’t think you do. Actually Carl and I were planning to slip away to the beach when it begin to get a little more difficult and I knew I just might need to stay around home so those plans went on hold. The next thing I find out is it seems my doctor just has her own plans of slipping away for a few days….now that did change the picture. I don’t just trust anyone with my health I am a little picky.

In the Blogworld we all have a circle of friends and some overlap and some weave in and out—some of mine are in yours and some yours are in his and some of his are in hers and some of hers are in mine and well you get the picture….I just have a lot of friend out there and on this day I was talking to the one I very loving call the Bad One because he is also my sweetie Walker.

For some reason I think I can tell him everything but never again—-you heard that—NEVER—-will I trust him —-he might talk me into or out of something you know what I mean…..I was telling him how I was feeling and the next thing I know I am for some reason seeing just why it is the right thing to see my doctor before she leaves town. In case you want to know he can talk me out of my clothes just like he can talk me to see my doctor—-well not anymore—-he likes to think he can but I know better. Any way it really was, my friend Walker to reminded me of all the reasons to see my doctor in a very nice way—can the “Bad One ” be Nice?

I did not listen for a day or two but then the day comes and all of a sudden it hits so bad I know I will be seeing my doctor before she slips away.—-Oh the SOB—-Not that kind , the shortness of breath , kind but it acts like that.—–Boy does it act like that. Actually it had been acting that way for a long time but I had ignored it .I always think it might be Missy playing games so I wait around to see if she is going to behave.

Finally I decide this is not Missy and I should see my physician but it Wednesday and she will be going out of town soon. I know I can still handle a few things as my mother has an appointment to see her that day in her office so I just decide I will take her appointment——keep in mind that it helps if you are a Nurse and worked for an Insurance Company —–yeah if you buy that I got something else to sell—-now back to the real story.

Now was that the beach story or the hospital story oh by now you know the beach trip never took place. Instead I walked into the doctor’s office at the time of mom’s appointment. I told the receptionist I am here ” to see Dr. M.” actually I gasped that. She quickly opened the door and took me right back saying ” You can not breathe” You can not breathe.” I am thinking no shit sherlock now who is more scared me or her—–

I was told you can not pass go you must go straight to the hospital —–that meant I could not even go home for my own clothes—–yes you heard me my own clothes. This is becoming a very long post so I will stop it here and tell you more later like did I check into the Hotel Six where they kept the light on for me or did I go to the Royal Hilton where I could contribute to Ms Paris’s fortune. I know you will all want to come back later for the rest and there will be so much more because after all you have to remember this is my first time in the Middle of Nowhere as a patient and I am a Nurse. ( to be continued)

I’m glad to see you back. You sounded so good today on the phone, I do believe the Sweet One is back…

I love you, my dear friend! *HUGS*

So glad that you’re back writing, and hopefully you’re up and around as well.

Steven has asthma and it can be a really scary thing. And MS adds a huge unknown to everything, one of the things I hate most about MS is that the symptoms are so unpredictable and varied. Something goes wrong and you have no idea whether to worry about it or not.

It’s good to hear from you. Looking forward to the rest of the story.

It is good to again see you posting and I’ll look forward “to the rest of the story.” Health issues are scarey and I am not sure that it is easier for a nurse or someone who really knows more about what is going on than a lay person. You handle it well.

I am just thankful that you listened to Walker and your body. We like having you around here.

  5. MyAvatars 0.2 deni Says:

    Oh, you are BACK! Yay!!

Now, you better listen to Walker, and better take care of yourself, and no more scaring us with sudden trips to the hospital.

Well, you don’t really have to listen to Walker, it’s more fun to not listen to him.

Take care, and be well, and know that I have been praying and will continue to do so.

  9. MyAvatars 0.2 skye Says:

Yeah, walker has that effect, doesn’t he? Shame it’s not the same in reverse.

Sometimes, we’re just too stubborn for our own good. Glad you finally sought the treatment you needed. Now, burn a sea-scented candle, but on some ocean sound effects, lay back in your tub and take that little beach vacation in your mind.

  10. MyAvatars 0.2 Peter Says:

Hi Vickie, glad to hear you are out of hospital at least and hope that also means you are feeling better.

  11. MyAvatars 0.2 itisi Says:

Oh Happy Day!! You have felt good enough to post for us!! It is a good thing that you listened to Walker. He has your best interests at heart. You know that. I do like the way that you got into see the Dr. Whatever it takes. Now, Skye’s idea is a good one, but maybe you and hubby should skip the tub and lay on beach towels with the rest of it, and then after a while of listening to the ocean waves and rubbing lotion into each others backs, you both can take a shower together. Either way, it is a good idea.

Take care and I am looking forward to the rest of the story.

Silly girl! Doctors offices aren’t equipped for emergencies, you shoulda called 911!!!! Don’t be bashful if there’s a next time, let them come get you!

Geez, I’m just glad you’re ok! whew!

  13. MyAvatars 0.2 Walker Says:

You blew a perfectly good excuse for you being sick.
I had them all beleive the whole sex, rolex thing.
Just don;t tell Monica she still believes it.

We tend not to want to do things we hate like going to the doctor but this is one of those things in life where its better early that late.
Glad to see you back and if you need any ideas for the second part I have one involving a row boat and waterfalls

  14. MyAvatars 0.2 Sgt Hook Says:

    You took my breath away.

I’m hoping that you did not stay at a Hilton as they’ve treated our wounded warriors horribly (they’re hotel chain is on my blacklist).
