Update on Vickie | Filed under General
I just spoke with Vickie and she still sounds good. They won’t let her get up and cause any trouble but her breathing is good as long as she’s lying there. She’s going for a record of how long she can stay awake; she was up all night despite having IV Ambien to knock her out. Between the Albuterol treatment and steroids, she’s wide awake… then she had a cup of coffee for breakfast 
Amazingly enough, after talking to me for 20 minutes, she suddenly felt tired. I told her next time she can’t sleep, I’ll ramble on about things and make her sleepy again… She wants to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers; I passed on the comments you all left for her. Hopefully she’ll be home by tomorrow.

It sounds like she is getting the care she needs and it is good that she may get to come home that soon. Hospitals are good for what they do but there is a real emotional boost when you get to go home.

I agree with Dick. We need to be there sometimes but it’s nice to go home!

I’m so sorry you had such a bad attack.
Steven is prone to asthma attacks, and he’s had pneumonia 8 times in his life, but as he gets older it seems to get better and better.
Three days after we arrived in Memphis for the first time, he had the worst asthma attach he’s ever had, landing him in the hospital for two days.
But he recovered quickly, and I’m praying for the same for you. Maybe this is one of God’s ways of telling you to slow down.

Hope you are feeling better! I want you to know that it is a pretty cool friend you got in Karen, the way she keeps us posted on how you are doing! And I only had to kick Walker’s butt once while you were gone (so far!)

And I didn’t tell ANYONE what you were REALLY doing…really I didn’t.
Oh, and you’re no longer “in trouble” with the good one…we’re even now.

Well, here I am again! It was good talking to you the other night, even if it was for only a minute. Just so you know, Vickie, I am still here…..waiting……for you to get well and be able to make us laugh and smile once again. You are sooooooo missed around here.
