Making A Few Changes | Filed under General

Hi there and welcome back, by now most of you are aware how I enjoy pondering life and living it, a big sign I have time on my hands through no fault of my own just one of those things that happened along the Path of Life. I know Walker I got way off track there but I thought for just a moment I would see if I could give Mr. H a run for his money by Rambling On. It is a requirement for living in Georgia I do believe because both Mr. H. and I do it well. Now to get back to the point I really want to make…….

I recently read

“Life is not lost by dying; life is lost minute by minute, day by dragging day, in all the thousand small uncaring ways.”

Stephen Vincent Benet

What’s needed for a new relationship with time and life?

How about ……

Goals — Get really clear about what you want.

Or maybe

Longing — How much do you want something new for yourself? Know your motivation. Longing brings the energy for change.

With just a little

Belief and/or willingness to trust you can have what you want. If belief is lacking, can you believe in the possibility that you can find a new way of living?

Perseverance, discipline — It takes time and effort to change attitudes and habits. We can’t expect a new life overnight.

Add some

Acceptance, both of what’s happening now and of who we are. Until we honestly and openly accept our present situation, we cannot change it.

A willingness to try something new and you just might come out a winner in the end. That is my pondering on it. I wonder what you might think about this, I know you have some thoughts you always do and I invite you to share them here with us. I actually encourage you to share your thoughts with us here.

Yes I am reallytrying to live life.

“It is so easy to waste our lives: our days, our hours, our minutes. … It is so easy to exist instead of live. Unless you know there is a clock ticking. So many of us changed our lives when we heard a biological clock and decided to have kids. But that sound is a murmur compared to the tolling of mortality.”
Anna Quindle

In the end you might even end up with a willingness to try something new. So don’t waste your time do something special with your life live it. Fully each day for we never know what the next hour brings. Until the next time we meet.

I am always scared to try new things. Don’t like to fall on my face, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I like to beleive that life is a series of adjustments we do as we get further down the road to that last big sleep.
It’s all the culmulation of a lifes dreams and desires with a sprinkling of sorrow and regret but with an abundance love and a sense of accomplishment.
I know some people beleive they didn;t accomplish anything but they look to far down the road instead of whats around them.
All you have to remember is that sometimes you have to stop and smell the roses
    How you go

what you said is so correct miss vickie. if you want to do some thing than go ahead and do it. it is always good to have a dream and try to attain that dream. if you were to get an illness where you thought your time on this earth was going to be short you would do whatever you wanted and you would not worry so much about the price of things.

I’m a firm believer in “acceptance” in most every aspect of life. We have to accept things that we are born with, and we have accept what comes to us throughout the years. In no way does that mean we are going to give up with what we’re dealt. Nope, we do the best we can.

Every day the big old devil tries to take advantage of our weaknesses. There are many things we cannot change; other people’s actions for one. But, we can change our own outlook.

I believe 100%, absolutely, positively that every one of us who understand and know there is a higher power than ourselves are a success in life.

Well, that’s my two cents!! Good post, Ms. Vickie. :)

I’ve always thought that life should be like a flower, always reaching, striving and never reaching full bloom, never reaching the point where the petals begin to whither and fall off. There’s always room for more knowledge, more experience, more kindness, more giving, just more…. My poor words fail me. I hope I’ve managed to make some sense.

we just need to take those first steps toward doing those things in life we are afraid of. If we fail we can say we at least tried. We have got to face each day as a new adventure and welcome what that day brings our way. I love your post!

    What a wonderful post!
Words to respond fail me at the moment.
You hit on all the keys…
Goals, Longing, belief, perserverance, acceptance and willingness.
I am tossing in some happiness, laughter, a dash of childlike wonder in discovery of something new, plus a smidge of something like a good food or wine and a great big hug from a friend who loves you and has missed you and I have no clue what you end up with…
My thoughts and prayers are with you…
Hugs ‘n Love from the cool one….:heart::heart::heart::heart::heart:

    Good post Vicky,
Trying something new is always a challenge, we tend to get comfortable in our little routines.
So are you going to let us in on what new thing you may have a go at?

I seem to be trying new things now on a fairly regular basis. Today I registered for a class on digital photography at our local college. Starting to even think about dating after all these years of not doing it has been a major change. Learning to live without Annie, while not one I wanted, has been a really giant change. Some are forced on you and you have to do the best you can.

By the way, at least on my monitor, this new dark blue background makes the black text kind of hard to read. It needs more contrast.

Great post…I read it yesterday and came back to read it this morning. I’m determined not to let life pass me by…some may say slow down because of my TIA but I feel really good now and I don’t want to use it as a crutch…so the girls and I are set to play soccer and teach them some soccer skills. :)

My Mom always said that Life is what you make it to be. I try to live by that rule. Sometimes it isn’t easy. But by having a postitive outlook, you can find a new adventure in each day.

You know what a rambler I am but I didn’t think this was rambling at all. You brought up many points and reminded me that I need to quit stressing the small stuff; it’s making me miss out on some important things such as laughter. Thank you again for your phone call yesterday, you indeed made me laugh. It’s cold in my office but I’m wearing a crinkle rayon dress so no one is noticing the full beam. *snortle*

    Love ya!

  17. MyAvatars 0.2 Vince Says:

Very good points all. You can’t change a think unless you’re willing to first accept that something does need to change, then go out and do it. And when you fail (because you will at first), try again and again until you succeed.

Thank you for this post, this is exactly what I needed to read today! what you wrote about is very profound and hits very deep. I know merely existing very well. I am trying to begin living again, but yea, anyways… great post!
