I don’t have much to say here today so I thought I would share something I came across with you that says so much and is so true. Enjoy.
ANYWAY
People are often unreasonable,
Illogical, and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind,
People may accuse you of having selfish,
ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful,
You will win some false friends
and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank,
People may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building,
Someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness,
They may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today,
People will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have,
And it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis,
It is between you and God;
It never was between you and them anyway.
Epilogue: How often have we worried about the end result before doing a deed? How often have we stopped from doing good because we’re uncertain of its outcome? Let’s give up all our fears, doubts, and insecurities and do good anyway.

That is well put. my mom taught me that the best deeds were the ones done when know one knows you did them. The point is to do things because they are the right things to do.
I fail at that often… I think through my actions too much… But still, I try to keep my heart, my attitude right.
Thank you for your visit to my blog today and the kind comment you left.
God bless you.

I loved that, thank you for sharing, I needed to hear that today. It’s going in the “writings that Vickie has inspired me with” vault.
No matter how tough life gets, you keep going anyway…
Love you, girlfriend and sending you lots of hugs and prayers.

That poem is like a guidebook on how to live life. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Thanks for your comments on my blog. Hope you have an enjoyable day.

That maps out a good goal for our lives and your Epilogue spells it out. Wouldn’t it be a better world if everyone lived by those guidelines?

I read this earlier, then went to take a quick little nap and slept ALL evening! Now I’m tired again, geez, I feel like an old lady…lol.
Take care.
AND I LOVE IT>

I have always liked this poem. Our mission is to do and God blesses our efforts. We plant the seeds and He makes them grow.

Those are the paradoxical commandments by Dr. Kent Keith and I have a copy that I periodically look at when I’m fantasizing that somewhere inside me lives a person that could actually be nice instead of neurotic and fearful.
There’s another verse to it that I like because I’ve experienced it:
People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.
Hope you’re having a great weekend.

Hi Girls, cc to; Karen, Monica, 3rd Daughter, Ms Vickie.
Wow, to the best of my knowledge I have never been a subject of discussion at a slumber party before, I trust that any laughter was restricted to my ever so humorous blogsite!!
A drive by comment sounds sorta like some obscenity you might shout at someone who took your parking space, or worse, again I trust this was not the case.
Hope you all had a great weekend too, mine was excellent because of the Gympie music Muster and a visit, from interstate, by my Daughter Vicki and her Hubby, even the weather was perfect!!

Since we’ll never know the true meaning of life, it’s all about the goodness we can spread, the good works we can do.
August 27th, 2006 at 7:09 pm
Too many times I have hesitated then opportunities were lost to do good.
This is a good reminder.
Thanks Vickie!!

Fabulous post Vickie… many times I don’t do something exactly for the reasons in the poem.

It’s all about the good that we can proliferate even though we get taken advantage of with all the existing cruelties of the world around. It’s all in the hopes of having the domino effect of goodness….pass it when you can.
I hope you’re doing well, my friend.
