We all receive those dreaded calls, and I want to share the one I received this morning. First you need to know a few things. She is all about being a MOM, she is all about being the Good One, She is all about taking care of everyone else first. Yes this post is all about Monica. The severity of what is going on with Monica is not known by her youngest child. Keep this is mind if you visit and leave a comment for Monica on her site. This was a decision they made since Monica is DOING FINE NOW.
I do want to share with you what is going on. Last night after Big Brother Monica began to experience some unusual symptoms and being as aware of her body as she is she told her mother she felt she needed to go to the Emergency Room. By the time they arrived in the ER, Monica was no longer able to speak, she was experiencing numbness of her body, and her blood pressure was high for the very first time. The CAT Scan showed swelling of the brain.
We all know Monica and her faith as well as the faith of her family, before they were able to administer the TPA the blood pressure was coming down and she was beginning to respond more appropriately. It was decided she would not need the TPA or to be admitted to ICU. Instead she has been admitted to the stroke ward of the hospital and she will have a MRI of her brain done today as well as physical therapy for her legs. She might be able to go home if the results from the MRI are o-kay.
Please keep Monica in your thoughts and prayers. She is always there for us. If you do visit Monica’s place and leave her a comment, keep in mind the FON is not aware of how severe this has been.

Yes Monica I heart you and I did hollar at you when you were in the hospital. I just hope you listened and took this as your warning. We love you and want to keep you around.
UPDATE : The Force of Nature does know Monica had a stroke. Monica’s mom brought FON to the hospital to visit her, she walked into the room, took one look seeing the walker and said. “You had a stroke?” Yes that is the FON. So there was no point int sugar coating things anymore and she could also see just how well Monica is doing. At this time she is waiting not so patientienly for physicial therapy to visit and clear her for discharge. I told her since they came by when she was having her MRI it will be tomorrow before she sees them….I am so on her list.

thanks for the info on Monica. She is a very special lady. My thoughts and prayers are with her.
We are still out of town visiting my neice in the childrens hospital. Monica always kept Kayla at the top of her prayer list, i told Kayla about her.. And now Kayla will be sure to return the favour.

I don’t think I have read Monica’s blog but have noticed her name posted as a commenter on some I do read regularly. I will go check hers out. Let’s hope all turns out fine with her health issues.

I’m on her list too, for admitting I was in trouble over telling her she can’t watch BB anymore LOL I thought it was quite funny…
We might as well get used to this “list” of hers, I know you don’t plan on keeping on her about taking it easy either. That’s a beautiful poem!
I am not surprised FON figured it out… she’s a smart cookie, just like her mamma.

Well, I may as well get on her list also. When this happened to me, I was in the hosp. for over a week. slowly, cautiously, tip- toeing out of here……bye bye…..

Heavenly Father… Thank You for all You do for us, for me, every day. Thank You for the blessings of the Church that we may come to You and lift a sister up to You for blessings.
