Hey everyone. You probably know me as Melissa (from Hunny-Hive, Recovering Self, and Clicking Keys). I don’t have time to maintain my own site anymore so Vickie was kind enough to open her arms and doors and allow me to guest post. So here I am and I’m going to start out with a bang with song lyrics about something very near to my heart. Fighting against child abuse and neglect is something I have always worked for, as I am a survivor of child molestation and rape by the hands of my step father. Read these lyrics by Richard Klender, visit the page, and keep your eyes and heart open to the children around you. Bless you all.

SURVIVOR
Survivor, all the battles we’ve been through
Survivor, it all comes down to me and you
And though the storm is raging and the flesh be torn apart
You’re a true Survivor of the heart
He remembers playing baseball
4 for 4 on opening day
Mom missed out on all those seasons
Stepdad never saw him play
Today his own son won the big game
While he was working out of town
Somewhere between forgiveness
And the love that let him down
Survivor, all the battles we’ve been through
Survivor, it all comes down to me and you
And though the storm is raging and the flesh be torn apart
You’re a true Survivor of the heart
Free us, Free us, Free us…
Survivor, all the battles we’ve been through
Survivor, it all comes down to me and you
And though the storm is raging and the flesh be torn apart
You’re a true Survivor of the heart

Thank you for guest posting. You are very strong. You are very brave. I was moved by the lyrics of that song. It is my hope that no child has to ever experience what you went through. I went to the link. After entrance I tried to click on the links within that link. The wall would not put up a page display. I hope they fix that soon. I am glad you have Miss Vickie. She is one of those people who touched my heart right from the start. I have enjoyed my visits here and I am honored to have met you also.

Have a wonderful day!

Powerful song, Melissa. It’s not right that anybody should have to live through these experiences, let alone a defenseless child. It’s even more troubling when it’s a family member doing it.
I hope that you’ve been able to work out the feelings that that experience left you with.

Hey Melissa!
I can relate to the time issue; there’s just not enough hours in the days the get things completed. It was very sweet, and so like her, of Ms. Vickie to have you as a guest poster.
You, my dear, are a survivor and an inspiration.

I can think of nothing worse than child abuse. I think there is a special place in hell for abusers.

Ditto from me, Melissa. You’re never one to mince words when it comes to explaining yourself, your life, and where you’re coming from.

It’s my dream to be a mother one day. And every time I hear about child abuse, it saddens my heart because I know deep down my own heart may not be able to handle child birth. It’s just very heartbreaking.
And Vicki,lol.Yup. You catch me. Thanks for posting in my journal. I sort of changed it around but we do think the same thing,LOL. Kind of creepy isn’t it,lol? i just also wanted to let you know you are a very good writer and people like you bring out the best in me…Take care and have a Happy Fourth of July!
