Dear Mom and Dad,
I wanted to write a letter to you on my 50th birthday to tell you how thankful I am for your bringing me into the world, raising me, and then as I grew up allowing me to become the person I am. Many times it was difficult for you to relinquish your role as my major protector and stand by watching me make the choices I did. Some of these were leading to mistakes and others to victories but this you did with such love, strength and hope.
Overtime, I have matured and with that my love has grown deeper and more precious. Today, the day of my birth I see things with a maturity and it should be a day I was giving gifts. The three gifts I give to you today are gifts that you have given to me over and over again. This gifts include: love, strength, and hope.
A love that deepens with maturity; is one that is sacrificial, forgiving, and eternal.
Strength to endure whatever trials and challenges life has to offer.
Finally, a hope that never gives up; always seeks the truth, and believes the best about everyone and everything.
We know these are gifts we have already been given but on this day of celebration, my birthday I realize I am most blessed for having had you as my Mom for the last fifty years. Dad I continue to be blessed with the memories and I still miss you today just as much as I did December 29, 2003. The comfort comes in knowing I will see you again and enjoy a Birthday Hug.
I’m sure you will join me in thanking my Mom and Dad!
Your Loving Daughter,
Victoria Diane ( Vickie)
PS. Can I borrow the car after all you did forgive me for the wrecks?

A beautiful tribute from a beautiful lady; it is obvious that you get much from mom and dad.
They done good.

To humor Walker, I’m gonna wish you a Happy Dirty Thirty, or ThRity as he typed at the end of his post. He tries, gotta give him that
But seriously, what a wonderful way to celebrate your birthday…with a tribute to your parents. It’s the people in our lives that make us what we are today.
Happy Birthday, Vickie!

I hope I’m not last in line to wish you a happy birthday. And I hope my kids eventually gain the wisdom you did, as indicated in your letter. Right now all I hear is “life is different from when you were a kid, dad.” No so different, is it?
June 15th, 2006 at 2:45 pm
Just stopping by from Walker’s blog to wish you a happy Dirty Thirty!! Happy Birthday to you, Vickie, I hope it is a good one for you!

Dear Vickie,
First of all I wish you a very Happy Birthday! Also, I would like to thank you. On Sunday I will be moving back in with my parents. This is because of my landlord selling my flat and there not being anywhere available and cheap enough for me to rent.
I have been getting frustrated with my parents, and although I get on well with them, losing sight of the fact that this is a big upheaval for them, and everything they do is being done out of love. Thank you for making me get my thinking straight. Have a wonderful birthday
Much love,
Annie xxx

well first off i want to wish you a happy birthday. did you do any thing special today? did some one bake you a cake? did you get any presents? i know, i am nosey. itisi started to talk about her chocolates and i got hungry for them also. i loved you comment on peters blog. it was just what i expected you might say. my favorite quote always comes in to play. damn the torpedoes! full speed ahead! i like people that speak their mind. at least the other person knows where you stand instead of trying to guess. i hate playing these guessing games. just say what you mean and don’t take nothing back. well miss vickie i will leave you to celebrate your birthday. have a great day. enjoy your 50’s. i am not sure mine lasted 10 years. i think i might have got cheated some where because it sure went fast.

Vickie, I’m just stopping by via Walker’s post about your birthday! I realize it’s a day late (that’s the story of my life) but I hope it was everything you wanted it to be, and I wish you many, many more.

Sorry for the first post moderation, if you ever come back, your comments are immediate now.
A normal post is generally the antithesis of what I post.
June 17th, 2006 at 9:00 am
Crap I was so busy with everything going on at work (Vittoria is back) and getting mom’s trailer ready to sell that I forgot your birthday. Well I didn’t forget, just forgot to acknowledge it. I’m so sorry hon. And saying you are 50 is just the most laughable thing. There is NO way you could pass for 50. Happy Birthday sweetie.
June 17th, 2006 at 6:20 pm
Sorry I missed your special day. I hope it was wonderful. When I turn 50, I hope I am half as cool as you!
