Today it is time for some more good old fashioned linky love in the form of another “Blog of the Month”. Today , I am proud to ask you to focus your eyes over on the Grey Biker of In High Cotton. Yes this blog is about a guy who loves his Harley but there is so much more to GB than that. You will find his random passing thoughts, humorous observations of daily life, occasional rants, and down to earth reality from a native southern guy living out in the country in Georgia. GB is one of the first and most loyal bloggers to stand by me for he has been with me since the very beginning days of Always Victoria. He is also the first one to say, if I’m looking for inspiration I always come to you.
One day GB and I will meet for we have discussed doing so. After all one of those things I plan on doing before I check out of this place is taking a motorcycle ride. I think GB would be a great person to do that with just from reading his blog I know he would and he has sure he would take me on a ride so you could even say we have date. Just when is the very big question and where. The time and the place will work itself out as those things do when it is to happen. Now for a sample of this guys writing I have taken a very special post he wrote
Morning by the Tree
Making my rounds around blog reading this morning I stopped in at my favorite blog for inspiration, Always Victoria. Vickie puts together some great ideas to “ponder” as we say here in the south. I have my skin on her site set to “Tree”. I can picture myself right there standing before that tree. So, Vickie since you always comment and request me to write more of my creative thoughts, here is my view of your tree.
My eyes open slowly and I struggle to focus on the ceiling as another day begins. The ceiling fan above pushes a light breeze upon my face and pink daylight creeps thru the blinds. I rip away the bed covers and sit on the side of the bed and stretch an awakening body. The soothing smell of coffee drifts into the room as I hear it brewing in the kitchen. As my bare feet hit the floor I know I must hurry to get outdoors and see what view this day will offer. I pull on some old worn comfortable cut off bluejeans and head for the coffee pot. Pouring myself a steaming dark brew I inhale its fragrance and take a sip feeling its warmth as it travels down my throat. With cup in hand I head for the door.
I step outside shirtless and barefoot to feel the ocean breeze mixed with the light warmth of the early morning sun. The cool soft sand feels good on my bare feet. I walk towards the tree with limbs outstretched as if embracing the sunrise and trying to keep it for itself. Taking a deep breath I can smell the ocean and I taste the salty air upon my lips. Standing in the shade of the tree, the sunrise becomes brighter as it silhouettes the tree moving upward along its trunk.
The sound of the waves lap against the sand ahead of me as they move forward and then retreat back to the rolling sea. Shells tumble in the waves and a few stop and are left behind on the pure white sand. Seagulls float on the oceans breeze and call to one another as a greeting for this new day. As fish break the top of the water and jump the gulls dive towards them for an attempt at a easy morning meal.
The drifting clouds in the sky are rippled the same as the water and reflect the light from above and across the water. The clouds mimic the water and almost appear to be a mirror reflection of the water below them. A strip of cloudless pale blue sky along the horizon emits the sunlight of color.
I sit in the sand, drink coffee and ponder what I will do today but my mind drifts caught up in the glorious morning. Time no longer rules me and I sit for hours caught up in the beginning of another day. Just like Vickie said. “Life is simply good”.
Now you have had just a taste of GB’s writing, please go over and visit him letting him know Vickie sent you. If you want to focus on more of his creative writing you will see on the left side of his blog where he list some of his favorite stories. GB is a sweet loveable Southern guy and a dear friend to me. Don’t forget go visit GB here and tell him Vickie sent you over as he is her Blog of the Month.

Grey Biker has been on my blogroll for a long time, gona go congratulate him now!
Thanks for your nice comment that you left on my blog Vickie. Since you ask on my blog, I thought I tell you hear bout catching giant catfish by noodling with noodles. First, you have to make some noodles, not Ramen, then go find a lake and go noodling with those noodles by grabbing a whole handful of noodles then stick it in the water and find a big whole where the giant catfish might be, and hopefully he grabs your hand when he goes after the noodles you noodling at him and does not pull you off the boat and drowns you! That’s how you catch a giant catfish, just pray he doesn’t catch you!
I hope you had a nice weekend, Vickie!
