Here we are, with another day to live through and try to turn into something very special in our lives and the lives of those with whom we share the world. How can we make this day special as we continue on this journey an encouraging one at that? There is an old saying ” “God helps those who help themselves” is true in more senses than one. It is true in the sense that the Higher Aid seems to refuse to come to the assistance of those who are not willing to strike out for themselves and do their best.
Something else to think about is share by one of my favorite ladies, Melody Beattie, So often we feel that we are running, running, just trying to keep up with the rest of the world. It’s an illusion. Much of the time we’re running in place. Stop. The only one keeping you on the treadmill is you. Yes, we all have responsibilities. But taking time to take care of ourselves is one of our responsibilities, too.
More important in this journey of life we are on remember….
Today
Mend a quarrel. Search out a forgotten friend.
Dismiss suspicion and replace it with trust. Write
a love letter. Share some treasure. Give a soft answer.
Encourage youth. Manifest your loyalty in a word or deed.
Keep a promise. Find the time. Forego a grudge.
Forgive an enemy. Listen. Apologize if you were wrong.
Try to understand. Flout envy. Examine your demands
on others. Think first of someone else. Appreciate,
be kind, be gentle. Laugh a little more.
Deserve confidence. Take up arms against malice.
Decry complacency. Express your gratitude.
Worship your God. Gladden the heart of a child.
Take pleasure in the beauty and wonder of the earth.
Speak your love. Speak it again. Speak it still again.
Speak it still once again.
We collect data, things, people, ideas, “profound experiences,” never penetrating any of them. . . But there are other times. There are times when we stop. We sit still. We lose ourselves in a pile of leaves or its memory. We listen and breezes from a whole other world begin to whisper Life Is Simply Good. What would you like to whisper to me? Please leave me your thoughts especially if you are new.

Bill prayed to God every morning “Dear Lord, please let me win the lottery today.”
He did this every day for fifteen years. One day he prayed “God, I’ve been asking You to let me win, and you haven’t. I’m not happy about this…”
God spoke from the heavens “Bill, help me help you, at least BUY A TICKET!”

One has to have that profound inner strength to be able to examine one’s self, and even to appreciate the supposed littlest of things. And you have it, my dear friend. No one understands and appreciates the simple yet meaningful phrase “Life is Simply Good” more than you and truly mean it from the heart and spirit.

I agree with David. Some of those are easier said than done when you are in a certain situation. But having said that, it also helps to motivate one to try having an attitude adjustment. Thank you for inspiring me yet again.

My Grandmother used to say that the good Lord didn’t put too much on us to stand if we just stand it .
