“This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its place is something that you have left behind…let it be something good.”
As I began to write today, my thoughts have been of many things and how do I express them. First is saying Thanks to a few people. Now stick with me for this will not be Short n Sweet nor will it be Sweet n Sassy.
Melissa, of Hunny Hive is the very best friend anyone could have and I am proud she is mine, she was the first person to nominate me for the BoB awards. Could she be just a little biased or prejudice maybe, I don’t know you can ask her if you would like to. I was swept away and consider this an honor in itself when Greg of California Hammonds commented that he would like to second the nomination for Always Victoria. Greg, himself is up for this award and I am in awe of him every time I read his blog. I also had nominated him but not for this award but for the “Best Father” category. Ken of Inkjet Blues Journal who has read my blog for several months also feels I am inspirational and nominated me. This means a lot to me for Ken is a very good writer, a genuine person, and someone I would like to know better and truly call my friend not just my cyber friend. Then low and behold along came Pink Poppy of Tall Poppy Diaries who nominated me by saying I am the “the epitome of the “Inspirational Blog” which she is that and so much more. Pink Poppy and Greg are both new readers to my blog but very valuable and important to me.
To each of you I say Thank You for first visiting my blog, reading it, and the feelings you have shown by nominating me for this award. It is an honor for me. I also would like to thank Genuine, the other panelists as well as the sponsors first for the time, effort and money they put forth in bringing this about. Here I am nominated once again for Most Inspirational Blog this has me really thinking and you have no idea what happens when I do that, only a few who love me and know me well could answer that for you.
What is Inspirational, Why me, do I deserve this so much has gone through my mind especially when I visited the blogs of the others who are also nominated. Inspirational…..

My take has been, and remains, that blogging isn’t a contest of who is best. We simply write what we feel and people I identify with what they can. That one has more readers than another does not mean that one is more real, or more important. There are too many of my friends who are finalists in the same categories. I will do my best to vote for each in turn, but I could never choose one over the other.

I want to ditto what the others, particularly G. just said (he is so clever…AND usually right…). I have never thought of blogging as a competition. For me, it’s an outlet–a way to celebrate life–and a way to share with others, in Oprah’s words, “What I Know for Sure…”. There are many, many things that I don’t know for sure. And many things that I think I know for sure, but am always willing to reconsider. THAT is why I read YOUR blog and others. Everyone has room to grow. And I am inspired by you and your stories every day.

You deserve to be in with that group of bloggers. Your inspiration helps us deal with problems, to work through the difficult times, to not give up, and to be gracious in doing so. It would be easy to be bitter at the world when unfortunate things happen to us and are not fair. It is your compassion for others and positive attitude in working through life’s challenges that gives readers hope, and that is why you were nominated. That is what people see in you and why they read your writings. Thanks for your posts.
