I love Christmas and need to get more in the mood for it so to help me with it I decided I would do this.
1. When do you decorate your home for the season?
I love the season but for so many reasons and not having children I stopped decorating my home. This is a very sad time of year for me….I lost my favorite grandmother and she was buried on Christmas Eve when I was a freshman in high school, my dad was buried on New Years Eve two years ago, my very best friend in high school was killed in car accident our junior year in high school.
2. If you have a Christmas tree, what kind of lights do you prefer–multi-color, white, all one color? Do you like blinking, steady on or those chasing lights that do tricks? Please give me steady lights or migraine headaches I will have and I prefer all one color .
3. Do your parents or family still have decorations and/or ornaments you made when you were little? Parents–do you still have decorations your children made when they were little? My mom still has all the decorations and ornaments my sister and I made for her. My husband and I actually had them out going throughout them last week.
4. Do you like decorating outdoors as well? If so, are you conservative or do you go Clark W. Griswold (from Christmas Vacation)? I like conservative outdoor decorating
Bonus — What is your favorite family decoration or family decorating tradition.
As children growing up we always put the tree up together and it was always done the Saturday after Thanksgiving come hell or high water it did not matter what else was going on everything else was put on hold for this had to take place. Christmas music always played we always had oyster stew to eat that night.
Oh the memories and how special they are. Thank you Michael for inviting me to take part in your Christmas activity and in doing so I have taken a nice walk down memory lane.

Hey girl, this is a hard time of year for me too. All my parents have passed. We normaly do decorations the first week after Thanksgiving. My twelve year old grand daughter lives wiyh us. So she does most and my wife back tracks. We have multi color lights. In fact my wife is a light geek. She has a different string of lights in the kitchen every mounth. Tonight is our tree night, I will be thinking of you. My mother-in-law makes xmas oriniments so we have quite a collection and yes I do have a golf ball one!

1. We usually start decorating our home right bout now, but we can’t decorate the Christmas tree now because when I was wrestling my big brother to the death last week, I fell on the decorations and crushed them, but I lived.
2. I like Christmas lights that blink and get all twinkly!
3. Not any more, I crushed them too last week!
4. Who’s Clark W. Griswold? I help my mom decorate outside, but she does all the work on the roof with the staple gun while I hold the lights, because my dad gave up the job of holding the lights when mom fell on him, and he almost died! This year dad called some rock climbing company that installed some safety ropes mom can connect to, and it works because when mom fell off the roof two weeks ago, she didn’t hit the ground, just went through a window, but dad got it fixed.
5. Our favorite family deocration tradition is decorating the Christmas tree, but we have to wait until we get new decorations since last week while I was wrestling to the death I fell on the decorations and crushed them! Did I say this already?
I hope you are having fun decorating, Sweet N Sassy, and be careful with those Christmas tree decorations, they crush easy because last week I crushed ours when me and my big brother wrestled to the death!
I have a headache!

I went over and voted for you today. Oy, someone famous on my blogroll! Go figure.
Christmas is my favorite holiday. I have invested heavily in it over the years. I usually have about 7 to 10 trees decorated around my home for Christmas. Here’s a link to last year’s tree: http://rlbtzero.smugmug.com/Holidays

Christmas time is always a rough time for me. The madness of the season and the lack of daylight combine to make a really, really gray experience. Blah.
